Journal ArticleDOI
Overview of the European and North American studies on HPV testing in primary cervical cancer screening.
Jack Cuzick,Christine Clavel,Karl Ulrich Petry,Chris J.L.M. Meijer,Heike Hoyer,Sam Ratnam,Anne Szarewski,Philippe Birembaut,Shalini L Kulasingam,Peter Sasieni,Thomas Iftner +10 more
TL;DR: The results support the use of HPV testing as the sole primary screening test, with cytology reserved for women who test HPV positive, with large demonstration projects needed to fully evaluate this strategy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lung Ultrasound in the Diagnosis and Follow-up of Community-Acquired Pneumonia : A Prospective, Multicenter, Diagnostic Accuracy Study
Angelika Reissig,Roberto Copetti,Gebhard Mathis,Christine Mempel,Andreas Schuler,Peter Zechner,Stefano Aliberti,Rotraud Neumann,Claus Kroegel,Heike Hoyer +9 more
TL;DR: LUS is a noninvasive, usually available tool used for high-accuracy diagnosis of CAP and about 8% of pneumonic lesions are not detectable by LUS; therefore, an inconspicuous LUS does not exclude pneumonia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Screening for high‐grade cervical intra‐epithelial neoplasia and cancer by testing for high‐risk HPV, routine cytology or colposcopy
Achim Schneider,Heike Hoyer,Beatrix Lotz,Sabine Leistritza,Rosemarie Kühne-Heid,Ingo Nindl,Bernhard Müller,Johannes Haerting,Matthias Dürst +8 more
TL;DR: In middle‐aged women, testing for high‐risk HPV types, particularly when negative, may be used to increase the screening interval in programs for secondary prevention of cervical cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of compliance with infection management guidelines on outcome in patients with severe sepsis: a prospective observational multi-center study
Frank Bloos,Daniel Thomas-Rüddel,Hendrik Rüddel,Christoph Engel,Daniel Schwarzkopf,John C. Marshall,Stéphan Juergen Harbarth,Philipp Simon,Reimer Riessen,Didier Keh,Karin Dey,Manfred Weiß,Susanne Toussaint,Dirk Schädler,Andreas Weyland,Maximillian Ragaller,Konrad Schwarzkopf,Jürgen Eiche,Gerhard Kuhnle,Heike Hoyer,Christiane S. Hartog,Udo Kaisers,Konrad Reinhart +22 more
TL;DR: A delay in source control beyond 6 hours may have a major impact on patient mortality, and adequate AT is associated with improved patient outcome but compliance with guideline recommendation requires improvement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in the treatment of acetabular fractures over 15 years: Analysis of 1266 cases treated by the German Pelvic Multicentre Study Group (DAO/DGU).
Björn Gunnar Ochs,Ivan Marintschev,Heike Hoyer,Bernd Rolauffs,Ulf Culemann,Tim Pohlemann,Fabian Stuby +6 more
TL;DR: The obtained reduction quality did not correlate with time to operation, was lower in associated than in simple fracture types, and also lower in patients with isolated acetabular fractures than in polytrauma patients, and most importantly, the fracture reductionquality did not improve over time despite a higher frequency of surgical interventions.
