Journal ArticleDOI

Immunomodulation by vitamin B12: augmentation of CD8+ T lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cell activity in vitamin B12-deficient patients by methyl-B12 treatment.

TL;DR: It is concluded that vit.B12 acts as an immunomodulator for cellular immunity, especially relativing to CD8+ cells and the NK cell system, which suggests effects on cytotoxic cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

The usefulness of (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography ((18)F-FDG-PET) and a comparison of (18)F-FDG-pet with (67)gallium scintigraphy in the evaluation of lymphoma: relation to histologic subtypes based on the World Health Organization classification.

TL;DR: (18)F-FDG-PET was useful for all histologic subtypes of lymphoma other than SLL and SMZL and the sensitivity of (67)Ga was unexpectedly poor for FL, for mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), and for the nasal type of natural killer/T-cell lymphomas (NK/t-nasal), ranging from 30% to 38%.
Journal ArticleDOI

Differential ability of polymorphic OGG1 proteins to suppress mutagenesis induced by 8-hydroxyguanine in human cell in vivo.

TL;DR: The results indicated that O GG1-Cys326 has a lower ability to prevent mutagenesis by 8OHG than OGG1-Ser326 in vivo in human cells; supporting the results of recent association studies that OGG 1- Cys326 is a risk allele for several types of human cancers.
