Eccentric exercise-induced delayed-onset muscle soreness and changes in markers of muscle damage and inflammation.
Kazue Kanda,Kaoru Sugama,Harumi Hayashida,Jun Sakuma,Yasuo Kawakami,Shigeki Miura,Hiroshi Yoshioka,Yuichi Mori,Katsuhiko Suzuki +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that neutrophils can be mobilized into the circulation and migrate to the muscle tissue several hours after the eccentric exercise, and neutrophil mobilization and migration after exercise may be involved in the muscle damage and inflammatory processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetic resonance imaging of articular cartilage of the knee: Comparison between fat‐suppressed three‐dimensional SPGR imaging, fat‐suppressed FSE imaging, and fat‐suppressed three‐dimensional DEFT imaging, and correlation with arthroscopy
Hiroshi Yoshioka,Kathryn J. Stevens,Brian A. Hargreaves,Daniel Steines,Mark C. Genovese,Michael F. Dillingham,Carl S. Winalski,Philipp Lang +7 more
TL;DR: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of these imaging sequences for detecting cartilage lesions in osteoarthritic knees, as compared with arthroscopy, signal‐to‐noise ratios and contrast‐to-noise ratio are compared.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ulnar-sided wrist pain. II. Clinical imaging and treatment
Atsuya Watanabe,Felipe Ferreira de Souza,Peter S. Vezeridis,Philip E. Blazar,Hiroshi Yoshioka,Hiroshi Yoshioka +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, imaging modalities including radiography, arthrography, ultrasound, ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT), CT arhrographY, magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, and MR arthrogramy are compared with regard to differential diagnosis of ulnar-sided wrist pain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in magnetic resonance images in human skeletal muscle after eccentric exercise
Hideyuki Takahashi,Shinya Kuno,Toshikazu Miyamoto,Hiroshi Yoshioka,Mitsuharu Inaki,Hiroshi Akima,Shigeru Katsuta,Izumi Anno,Yuji Itai +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that T2 and CSA displayed bimodal responses after eccentric exercise and the time-courses of changes in them were similar to those in muscle soreness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gene expression profile of human mesenchymal stem cells during osteogenesis in three-dimensional thermoreversible gelation polymer
Keiichi Hishikawa,Shigeki Miura,Takeshi Marumo,Hiroshi Yoshioka,Yuichi Mori,Tsuyoshi Takato,Toshiro Fujita +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that TGP could be applied clinically to induce osteogenic differentiation of hMSC because it is chemically synthesized and completely free from pathogen such as prion in bovine spongiform encephalopathy.
