The circulating microRNA-221 level in patients with malignant melanoma as a new tumor marker

TL;DR: Serum levels of miR-221 were significantly increased in MM patients and may be useful not only for the diagnosis of MM, but also for the differentiating MM in situ from stage I-IV MM, and for evaluating tumor progression and monitoring patients during the follow-up period.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antitumor effect of Batf2 through IL-12 p40 up-regulation in tumor-associated macrophages.

TL;DR: It is found that basic leucine zipper transcription factor ATF-like 2 (Batf2) has an antitumor effect through the up-regulation of IL-12 p40 in tumor-associated macrophages, which eventually induces CD8+ T-cell activation and accumulation within the tumor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of FOXM1 as a Potential New Target for Melanoma

TL;DR: Investigation of the FOXM1 expression in human melanoma samples and cell lines found it to be a new therapeutic target for melanoma, and downregulation of FOXM 1 by siRNA significantly inhibited the proliferation of melanoma cells, and blockade of the MAPK and PI3K/AKT pathways decreased the FoxM 1 expression in melanoma cell lines.
