The circulating microRNA-221 level in patients with malignant melanoma as a new tumor marker
Hisashi Kanemaru,Satoshi Fukushima,Junji Yamashita,Noritoshi Honda,Rie Oyama,Asako Kakimoto,Shinichi Masuguchi,Tsuyoshi Ishihara,Yuji Inoue,Masatoshi Jinnin,Hironobu Ihn +10 more
TL;DR: Serum levels of miR-221 were significantly increased in MM patients and may be useful not only for the diagnosis of MM, but also for the differentiating MM in situ from stage I-IV MM, and for evaluating tumor progression and monitoring patients during the follow-up period.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nociceptors Boost the Resolution of Fungal Osteoinflammation via the TRP Channel-CGRP-Jdp2 Axis
Kenta Maruyama,Yasunori Takayama,Takeshi Kondo,Ken ichi Ishibashi,Bikash R. Sahoo,Hisashi Kanemaru,Yutaro Kumagai,Mikaël M. Martino,Hiroki Tanaka,Naohito Ohno,Yoichiro Iwakura,Naoki Takemura,Makoto Tominaga,Makoto Tominaga,Shizuo Akira +14 more
TL;DR: Findings clearly suggest a role for Dectin-1-mediated sensocrine pathways in the resolution of fungal osteoinflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
The ATP Transporter VNUT Mediates Induction of Dectin-1-Triggered Candida Nociception.
Kenta Maruyama,Yasunori Takayama,Erika Sugisawa,Yu Yamanoi,Takashi Yokawa,Takeshi Kondo,Ken ichi Ishibashi,Bikash R. Sahoo,Naoki Takemura,Yuki Mori,Hisashi Kanemaru,Yutaro Kumagai,Mikaël M. Martino,Yoshichika Yoshioka,Hisao Nishijo,Hiroki Tanaka,Atsushi Sasaki,Naohito Ohno,Yoichiro Iwakura,Yoshinori Moriyama,Masatoshi Nomura,Shizuo Akira,Makoto Tominaga +22 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the C. albicans-specific signaling pathway led to severe mechanical allodynia and the first report to indicate that Dectin-1 and VNUT mediated innate sensory mechanisms that detect fungal infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antitumor effect of Batf2 through IL-12 p40 up-regulation in tumor-associated macrophages.
Hisashi Kanemaru,Fumihiro Yamane,Kiyoharu Fukushima,Takanori Matsuki,Takahiro Kawasaki,Isao Ebina,Kanako Kuniyoshi,Hiroki Tanaka,Kenta Maruyama,Kazuhiko Maeda,Takashi Satoh,Shizuo Akira +11 more
TL;DR: It is found that basic leucine zipper transcription factor ATF-like 2 (Batf2) has an antitumor effect through the up-regulation of IL-12 p40 in tumor-associated macrophages, which eventually induces CD8+ T-cell activation and accumulation within the tumor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of FOXM1 as a Potential New Target for Melanoma
Azusa Miyashita,Satoshi Fukushima,Satoshi Nakahara,Junji Yamashita,Aki Tokuzumi,Jun Aoi,Asako Ichihara,Hisashi Kanemaru,Masatoshi Jinnin,Hironobu Ihn +9 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the FOXM1 expression in human melanoma samples and cell lines found it to be a new therapeutic target for melanoma, and downregulation of FOXM 1 by siRNA significantly inhibited the proliferation of melanoma cells, and blockade of the MAPK and PI3K/AKT pathways decreased the FoxM 1 expression in melanoma cell lines.
