A simulation technique for computation of the dosimetric effects of setup, organ motion and delineation uncertainties in radiotherapy

TL;DR: A novel simulation technique is introduced to incorporate delineation errors into radiotherapy treatment margins and combine them with organ motion and set-up errors to investigate the cumulative dosimetric effects in different tumour sites to deduce the possible margin reductions and dose escalation achievable with reduced uncertainties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Recent advances in fuzzy qualitative reasoning

TL;DR: An eye detector is used to refine the skin model for a specific person and a smoothed 2-D histogram and Gaussian model is combined, for automatic human skin detection in color image(s).
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Fuzzy Qualitative Gaussian Inference: Finding hidden Probability Distributions using Fuzzy Membership Functions

TL;DR: Fuzzy Qualitative Gaussian Inference is introduced: a novel way to build Fuzzy Membership Functions that map to hidden Probability Distributions underlying the informationally structured space that may allow recognition in real-time.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Moderate Temperature Thermal Modification Combined with Wax Impregnation on Wood Properties

TL;DR: In this paper, Pterocarpus macrocarpus Kurz wood was thermally modified at moderate temperature (150 °C) and higher temperature (200 °C), and subsequently TM wood at 150 °C was subjected to wax impregnation (WI), the effect of a combination of TM and WI on the hygroscopicity, dimensional stability and mechanical properties, as well as the micro-structure of wood, were investigated and compared.
Book ChapterDOI

Robust eye center localization based on an improved SVR method

TL;DR: This paper proposes an improved support vector regression (SVR) method to detect the eye center based on the facial feature localization and results showed that the SVR combining a Gaussian filter could get a better accuracy.
