TL;DR: The mRNA-1273 vaccine as discussed by the authors is a lipid nanoparticle-encapsulated mRNA-based vaccine that encodes the prefusion stabilized full-length spike protein of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes Covid-19.
Journal ArticleDOI
Daclatasvir plus sofosbuvir for previously treated or untreated chronic HCV infection
Mark S. Sulkowski,David F. Gardiner,Maribel Rodriguez-Torres,K. Rajender Reddy,Tarek Hassanein,Ira M. Jacobson,Eric Lawitz,Anna S. Lok,Federico Hinestrosa,Paul J. Thuluvath,Howard J. Symonds,Claudio Pasquinelli,Dennis M. Grasela +23 more
TL;DR: Once-daily oral daclatasvir plus sofosbuvir was associated with high rates of sustained virologic response among patients infected with HCV genotype 1, 2, or 3, including patients with no response to prior therapy with telaprevir or boceprevir.
Journal ArticleDOI
Guidelines for the clinical evaluation of hypersensitivity pneumonitis. Report of the Subcommittee on Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis.
Hal B. Richerson,I.L. Bernstein,Jordan N. Fink,Hunninghake Gw,Novey Hs,Charles E. Reed,John E. Salvaggio,Schuyler Mr,Howard J. Schwartz,Stechschulte Dj +9 more
TL;DR: A history of exposure to "moldy" hay, birds, or other incriminated occupational or environmental inhalants in a patient with clinical and radiologic features consistent with HSP should lead to the demonstration of serum precipitins to the suspected antigen and an established diagnosis, confirmed by avoidance of the agent involved.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safe administration of influenza vaccine to patients with egg allergy
John M. James,Robert S. Zeiger,Mitchell R. Lester,Mary Beth Fasano,James E. Gern,Lyndon E. Mansfield,Howard J. Schwartz,Hugh A. Sampson,Hugh H. Windom,Steven B. Machtinger,Shelly Lensing +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that patients with egg allergy, even those with significant allergic reactions after egg ingestion, can safely receive an influenza vaccine in a 2-dose protocol when the vaccine preparation contains no more than 1.2 micrograms/mL egg protein.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sensitivity to ingested metabisulfite: variations in clinical presentation.
TL;DR: Two patients presented with histories compatible with an anaphylactic reaction temporally related to meals and detailed allergy and immunologic studies indicated that the episodes were caused by sensitivity to metabisulfites.
