Insight into chemical phosphate recovery from municipal wastewater.
Yuanyao Ye,Huu Hao Ngo,Huu Hao Ngo,Wenshan Guo,Yiwen Liu,Jixiang Li,Yi Liu,Xinbo Zhang,Hui Jia +8 more
TL;DR: A technical overview of chemical phosphate recovery in both phases with reference to mechanism, efficiency and the main governing parameters is presented and a discussion on the economic feasibility of the technologies is assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of energy-distribution of a hybrid microbial fuel cell-membrane bioreactor (MFC-MBR) for cost-effective wastewater treatment.
TL;DR: A low-cost hybrid system integrating a membrane-less microbial fuel cell (MFC) with an anoxic/oxic membrane bioreactor (MBR) was studied for fouling mitigation and showed great feasibility without additional consumption but extracting energy from waste water and significantly enhancing the membrane filterability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Applying bio-electric field of microbial fuel cell-upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor catalyzed blast furnace dusting ash for promoting anaerobic digestion.
TL;DR: The structure and morphology variation of BFDA revealed that the synergistic effects of BEF stimulated iron-carbon micro-electrolysis for electron transferring and enhanced the activities of methanogens and acetogens promoting anaerobic digestion and recycled functionalized waste effectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of ionic strength on protein fouling during ultrafiltration by synchronized UV–vis spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy
TL;DR: In this article, a filtration cell for synchronized UV-vis spectroscopic and electrochemical impedance investigation of the membrane fouling process has been designed, and the setup achieves in situ monitoring of the interfacial region of the polygonal mesh by fiber-optic UVS spectroscopy and electro-chemical impedance spectrography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aged PVDF and PSF ultrafiltration membranes restored by functional polydopamine for adjustable pore sizes and fouling control
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of polydopamine (PDA) coatings on the structural/surface characteristics, the filtration performance and fouling behaviors of aged PVDF and polysulfone (PSF) membranes were investigated.
