Attribution analysis based on the Budyko hypothesis for detecting the dominant cause of runoff decline in Haihe basin
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors derived the elasticity of runoff from the Choudhury-Yang equation that is a water-energy balance equation based on the Budyko hypothesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Global patterns and controls of soil organic carbon dynamics as simulated by multiple terrestrial biosphere models: Current status and future directions.
Hanqin Tian,Chaoqun Lu,Jia Yang,Kamaljit Banger,Deborah N. Huntzinger,Christopher R. Schwalm,Anna M. Michalak,Robert B. Cook,Philippe Ciais,Daniel J. Hayes,Maoyi Huang,Akihiko Ito,Atul K. Ricciuto,Kevin Schaefer,Xiaoying Shi,Bo Tao,Weile Wang,Yaxing Wei,Qichun Yang,Bowen Zhang,Ning Zeng +28 more
TL;DR: All the models agreed that climate and land use changes decreased SOC stocks, while elevated atmospheric CO2 and nitrogen deposition over intact ecosystems increased SOC stocks—even though the responses varied significantly among models.
Journal ArticleDOI
The North American Carbon Program Multi-Scale Synthesis and Terrestrial Model Intercomparison Project – Part 1: Overview and experimental design
Deborah N. Huntzinger,Christopher R. Schwalm,Anna M. Michalak,Kevin Schaefer,Anthony W. King,Yaxing Wei,Andrew R. Jacobson,Shuguang Liu,Robert B. Cook,Wilfred M. Post,G. Berthier,Daniel J. TL;DR: MsTMIP as mentioned in this paper is a formal model intercomparison and evaluation effort focused on improving the diagnosis and attribution of carbon exchange at regional and global scales, and has a unique framework designed to isolate, interpret, and inform understanding of how model structural differences impact estimates of carbon uptake and release.
Journal ArticleDOI
Copula based drought frequency analysis considering the spatio-temporal variability in Southwest China
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper developed a regional drought frequency analysis model based on trivariate copulas by considering the spatio-temporal variations of drought events, and the model was applied for the analysis in Southwest China during 1961-2012.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interannual and seasonal variability in evapotranspiration and energy partitioning over an irrigated cropland in the North China Plain
Huimin Lei,Dawen Yang +1 more
TL;DR: Using the eddy covariance technique, three years (2005-2008) of water and energy flux measurements were obtained for a winter wheat/summer maize rotation cropland in the North China Plain this article.
