Journal ArticleDOI

Design and synthesis of some thiazolyl and thiadiazolyl derivatives of antipyrine as potential non-acidic anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antimicrobial agents.

TL;DR: The synthesis of two groups of structure hybrids comprising basically the antipyrine moiety attached to either polysubstituted thiazole or 2,5-disubstituting-1,3,4-thiadiazole counterparts through various linkages is described, and compound 10 could be identified as the most biologically active member within this study with an interesting dual anti-inflammatory analgesic and antibacterial profile.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and biological evaluation of thieno [2′,3′:4,5]pyrimido[1,2-b][1,2,4]triazines and thieno[2,3-d][1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines as anti-inflammatory and analgesic agents

TL;DR: The thienotriazolopyrimidine derivatives 9, 13 and 14a were proved to display distinctive anti-inflammatory activity at the acute and subacute models as well as good analgesic profile with a delayed onset of action and are well tolerated by experimental animals with high safety margin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Protective effect of volatile oil, alcoholic and aqueous extracts of Origanum majorana on lead acetate toxicity in mice.

TL;DR: It could be concluded that O. majorana plays an important role in ameliorating liver and kidney functions and genotoxicity induced by lead toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of marjoram volatile oil and grape seed extract on ethanol toxicity in male rats.

TL;DR: Marjoram volatile oil and grape seed extract are useful herbal remedies, especially for controlling oxidative damages, and co-administration of the extracts of protective plants resulted in minimizing the hazard effects of ethanol toxicity on male fertility, liver and brain tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidative stress and immunotoxic effects of lead and their amelioration with myrrh (Commiphora molmol) emulsion.

TL;DR: CME is a potent antioxidant, and can protect against PbAc-induced hepatic oxidative damage and immunotoxicity by reducing lipid peroxidation and enhancing the antioxidant and immune defense mechanisms.
