Journal ArticleDOI

New preparation of gold–silver complexes and optical fibre environmental sensors based on vapochromic [Au2Ag2(C6F5)4(phen)2]n

TL;DR: In this article, a sol-gel doped with the organometallic vapochromic complex [Au2Ag2(C6F5)4(phen)2]n was used to detect volatile organic compounds such as acetone even in an aqueous solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical fiber gas sensor based on self-assembled gratings

TL;DR: In this article, the electrostatic self-assembled monolayer synthesis process is used to fabricate gas sensors by building up grating sensor elements on the ends of multimode optical fibers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Editorial Optical Fiber Sensor Technology and Applications

TL;DR: In this paper, a special issue focusing on optical fiber sensor technology and applications is presented. And forty-seven articles in this special issue focus on the applications of optical fiber sensors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photochromic doped sol-gel materials for fiber-optic devices

TL;DR: In this paper, photochromic-doped sol-gel materials have been prepared by adding a spiropyran photo-chromic dye to a solution of ethoxy silane monomers containing non-reacting ethyl radicals.
Journal ArticleDOI

An antibacterial submicron fiber mat with in situ synthesized silver nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented an alternative approach for fabricating electrospun submicron highly hydrophilic fiber mats loaded with silver nanoparticles. But the fabrication method is divided in two steps, first, poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) sub-micron fibers were electro-spun and further stabilized using a thermal treatment.
