Colorectal Carcinoma: A General Overview and Future Perspectives in Colorectal Cancer
Inés Mármol,Cristina Sánchez-de-Diego,Alberto Pradilla Dieste,Elena Cerrada,María Jesús Rodriguez Yoldi +4 more
TL;DR: The choice of first-line treatment in CRC follows a multimodal approach based on tumour-related characteristics and usually comprises surgical resection followed by chemotherapy combined with monoclonal antibodies or proteins against vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and epidermal growth receptor (EGFR).
Journal ArticleDOI
Therapeutic Applications of Rose Hips from Different Rosa Species.
Inés Mármol,Cristina Sánchez-de-Diego,Nerea Jiménez-Moreno,Carmen Ancín-Azpilicueta,María Jesús Rodríguez-Yoldi +4 more
TL;DR: The role of different species of Rosa in the prevention of treatment of various disorders related to oxidative stress, is examined, focusing on new therapeutic approaches from a molecular point of view.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alkynyl gold(I) complex triggers necroptosis via ROS generation in colorectal carcinoma cells
Inés Mármol,María Virumbrales-Muñoz,Javier Quero,Cristina Sánchez-de-Diego,Luis J. Fernández,Ignacio Ochoa,Elena Cerrada,Mª. Jesús Rodríguez Yoldi +7 more
TL;DR: The obtained data show that gold complexes might have the ability of inducing necroptosis, and that the synthesized compound [Au(CC-2-NC5H4)(PTA)] is an interesting alternative to current chemotherapy drugs in cases of apoptosis resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Insight into the potential application of polyphenol-rich dietary intervention in degenerative disease management
TL;DR: The present review highlights the potential effect of dietary intervention with polyphenol-rich food and plant extracts in patients with cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative, autoimmune, cardiovascular and ophthalmic diseases, as well as the possible molecular mechanisms of action suggested in numerous studies with animal models.
Journal ArticleDOI
A systematic review of the potential uses of pine bark in food industry and health care
Inés Mármol,Javier Quero,Nerea Jiménez-Moreno,M. Jesús Rodríguez-Yoldi,Carmen Ancín-Azpilicueta +4 more
TL;DR: Both in vitro and in vivo assays suggest a promising future for pine as an adjuvant therapy and the potential of pine bark extract as a source of antioxidant and treatment diseases.
