Journal Article
Tumor rejection by in vivo administration of anti-CD25 (interleukin-2 receptor alpha) monoclonal antibody.
TL;DR: Kinetic analysis showed that the administration of anti-CD25 mAb (PC61) later than day 2 after tumor inoculation caused no tumor regression, irrespective of depletion of CD4+ CD25+ immunoregulatory cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
CD4+ CD25+ T cells responding to serologically defined autoantigens suppress antitumor immune responses.
Hiroyoshi Nishikawa,Takuma Kato,Koji Tanida,Atsunori Hiasa,Isao Tawara,Hiroaki Ikeda,Yoshinori Ikarashi,Hiro Wakasugi,Mitchell Kronenberg,Toshinori Nakayama,Masaru Taniguchi,Kagemasa Kuribayashi,Lloyd J. Old,Hiroshi Shiku +13 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that SEREX identifies a pool of autoantigens that maintains and regulates immunological homeostasis via CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vivo antigen delivery by a Salmonella typhimurium type III secretion system for therapeutic cancer vaccines.
Hiroyoshi Nishikawa,Eiichi Sato,Gabriel Briones,Li-Mei Chen,Mitsutoshi Matsuo,Yasuhiro Nagata,Gerd Ritter,Elke Jäger,Hideki Nomura,Shigeto Kondo,Isao Tawara,Takuma Kato,Hiroshi Shiku,Lloyd J. Old,Jorge E. Galán,Sacha Gnjatic +15 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that antigen delivery through the S. typhimurium type III secretion system is a promising novel strategy for cancer vaccine development.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reduced Cd4 + Cd25 + T cells in patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
Miho Sakakura,Hideo Wada,Isao Tawara,Tsutomu Nobori,Takashi Sugiyama,Norimasa Sagawa,Hiroshi Shiku +6 more
TL;DR: The number of CD4(+)CD25(+) T cells was significantly lower in the ITP patients in the severe phase, and in patients positive for anti-glycoprotein IIb-IIIa antibody, however, the number of those cells increased in the patients at the complete remission phase, especially after a splenectomy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Definition of target antigens for naturally occurring CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cells
Hiroyoshi Nishikawa,Takuma Kato,Isao Tawara,Kanako Saito,Hiroaki Ikeda,Hiroaki Ikeda,Kagemasa Kuribayashi,Paul M. Allen,Robert D. Schreiber,Shimon Sakaguchi,Lloyd J. Old,Hiroshi Shiku +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors defined a series of broadly expressed self-antigens derived from chemically induced mouse sarcomas by serological identification of antigens by recombinant expression cloning (SEREX).
