Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of 64CuII–Bis(dithiocarbamatebisphosphonate) and Its Conjugation with Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles: In Vivo Evaluation as Dual‐Modality PET–MRI Agent
Rafael Torres Martin de Rosales,Richard Tavaré,Rowena L. Paul,Maite Jauregui-Osoro,Andrea Protti,Arnaud Glaria,Gopal Varma,Istvan Szanda,Philip J. Blower +8 more
TL;DR: The synergistic combination of positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is likely to become the next generation of dual-modality scanners in medical imaging, providing accurate diagnoses thanks to the sensitive and quantifiable signal of PET and the high soft-tissue resolution of MRI.
Journal ArticleDOI
National Electrical Manufacturers Association NU-4 Performance Evaluation of the PET Component of the NanoPET/CT Preclinical PET/CT Scanner
Istvan Szanda,Jane E. Mackewn,G. Patay,Peter Major,Kavitha Sunassee,Gregory E. D. Mullen,Gábor Németh,York Haemisch,Philip J. Blower,Paul Marsden +9 more
TL;DR: The large number of detector crystals, arranged with a fine pitch, results in excellent spatial resolution, which is the best reported for currently available commercial systems, and the absolute sensitivity is high over the field of view.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and biological evaluation of [18F]tetrafluoroborate: a PET imaging agent for thyroid disease and reporter gene imaging of the sodium/iodide symporter
Maite Jauregui-Osoro,Kavitha Sunassee,Amanda Weeks,David J. Berry,Rowena L. Paul,Marcel Cleij,J. P. Banga,Michael O'Doherty,Paul Marsden,Susan E. M. Clarke,James R. Ballinger,Istvan Szanda,Sheue-Yann Cheng,Philip J. Blower +13 more
TL;DR: 18F-labelled tetrafluoroborate [18F]TFB is an easily prepared PET imaging agent for rodent NIS and should be evaluated for hNIS PET imaging in humans.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exploiting the Metal-Chelating Properties of the Drug Cargo for In Vivo Positron Emission Tomography Imaging of Liposomal Nanomedicines.
Scott Edmonds,Alessia Volpe,Hilary Shmeeda,Ana C. Parente-Pereira,Riya Radia,Julia Baguña-Torres,Istvan Szanda,Gregory Severin,Lefteris Livieratos,Philip J. Blower,John Maher,Gilbert O. Fruhwirth,Alberto Gabizon,Rafael Torres Martin de Rosales +13 more
TL;DR: In a model of metastatic breast cancer, this technique allows quantification of the biodistribution of a radiolabeled stealth liposomal nanomedicine containing alendronate that shows high uptake in primary tumors and metastatic organs.
Journal ArticleDOI
PET Imaging of Copper Trafficking in a Mouse Model of Alzheimer Disease
Julia Baguña Torres,Erica M. Andreozzi,Joel Dunn,Muhammad Siddique,Istvan Szanda,David R. Howlett,Kavitha Sunassee,Philip J. Blower +7 more
TL;DR: The trafficking of 64Cu in the brain after administration of 64 Cu-GTSM is significantly altered by AD-like pathology in the TASTPM mouse model, suggesting that 64Cu-G TSM PET imaging warrants clinical evaluation as a diagnostic tool for AD and possibly other neurodegenerative disorders.
