Journal ArticleDOI
Bone marrow transplantation with unrelated donors: what is the probability of identifying an HLA-A/B/Cw/DRB1/B3/B5/DQB1-matched donor?
J.-M. Tiercy,M Bujan-Lose,Chapuis B,Alois Gratwohl,Gmür J,Reinhard Seger,M Kern,A Morell,Eddy Roosnek +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a high degree of HLA compatibility is associated with increased patient survival and higher requirements for HLA matching decrease the number of available donors, but even when requirements for compatibility are high, the chances of finding a donor remain considerable.
Journal ArticleDOI
An update to HLA nomenclature, 2010.
Sge Marsh,Ed D. Albert,W. F. Bodmer,Re E. Bontrop,Bo Dupont,Ha A. Erlich,Marcelo Fernandez-Vina,De E. Geraghty,Rhonda Holdsworth,Ck K. Hurley,M. Lau,Kw W. Lee,Bernard Mach,Martin Maiers,Wr R. Mayr,Cr R. Müller,Peter Parham,Ew W. Petersdorf,Takehiko Sasazuki,Jl L. Strominger,A. Svejgaard,Pi I. Terasaki,J.-M. Tiercy,John Trowsdale +23 more
TL;DR: This update is an extract of the main report that documents the additions and revisions to the nomenclature of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) specificities following the principles established in previous reports.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of high-resolution matching in allogeneic unrelated donor stem cell transplantation in Switzerland
Yves Chalandon,J.-M. Tiercy,Urs Schanz,Tayfun Güngör,Reinhard Seger,Jörg Halter,Claudine Helg,Chapuis B,Alois Gratwohl,André Tichelli,G. Nicoloso de Faveri,Eddy Roosnek,Jakob Passweg +12 more
TL;DR: In multivariate analyses, HLA compatibility was the variable most significantly associated with survival and treatment-related mortality and best results for transplants from 10/10 matched donors were found.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolated HLA-C mismatches in unrelated donor transplantation for CML
J.-M. Tiercy,Jakob Passweg,A. van Biezen,Axel R. Zander,N Kröger,Alois Gratwohl,Bernard Chapuis,Claudine Helg,Lorentz Brinch,Jan J. Cornelissen,Machteld Oudshoorn,Tapani Ruutu,Liisa Volin,Dietger Niederwieser,Eddy Roosnek +14 more
TL;DR: In spite of their lower expression, HLA-C antigens still represent relevant transplantation barriers that should be considered when searching for an unrelated donor.
Journal Article
Histoincompatibilities in ABDR-matched unrelated donor recipient combinations.
Nathalie Rufer,J.-M. Tiercy,Birgitta S. Breur-Vriesendorp,Dominique Gauchat-Feiss,Shi X,Antonij Slavcev,Neubury M. Lardy,Daniel E. Speiser,Gratwohl A,Chapuis B +9 more
TL;DR: The presence of such a high number of histoincompatibilities in a group of relatively well matched D/R pairs will severely hinder the analysis of the role of HLA in marrow transplantation and that conclusions from studies in which D/ R pairs are matched by conventional typing must be interpreted with extreme caution.
