Journal ArticleDOI
Emergence of coherence in the charge-density wave state of 2H-NbSe2.
Utpal Chatterjee,J. Zhao,Maria Iavarone,R. Di Capua,John-Paul Castellan,Goran Karapetrov,Christos D. Malliakas,Mercouri G. Kanatzidis,Helmut Claus,Jacob Ruff,Frank Weber,J. van Wezel,Juan Carlos Campuzano,Raymond Osborn,Mohit Randeria,Nandini Trivedi,M. R. Norman,Stephan Rosenkranz +17 more
TL;DR: It is found that, either at high temperature or at large intercalation, CDW order becomes short-ranged with a well-defined amplitude, which has impacts on the electronic dispersion, giving rise to an energy gap.
Journal ArticleDOI
Excitonic and lattice contributions to the charge density wave in 1T-TiSe2 revealed by a phonon bottleneck
H. Hedayat,Charles J. Sayers,Davide Bugini,Claudia Dallera,Daniel Wolverson,Tim Batten,Sara Karbassi,Sven Friedemann,Giulio Cerullo,J. van Wezel,Stephen R. Clark,Stephen R. Clark,Ettore Carpene,E. Da Como +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, a dynamical slowing down in the recovery of the charge density wave (CDW) in 1T-TiSe2 following perturbation by a femtosecond laser pulse was observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Orbital selectivity causing anisotropy and particle-hole asymmetry in the charge density wave gap of 2H-TaS2
Junjing Zhao,Kapila Wijayaratne,A. Butler,Junjie Yang,Christos D. Malliakas,Duck Young Chung,Despina Louca,Mercouri G. Kanatzidis,Mercouri G. Kanatzidis,J. van Wezel,Utpal Chatterjee +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an angle-resolved photo-emission spectroscopy study was conducted on a canonical incommensurate charge density wave (CDW) system, where the energy gap was shown to be nonzero along the entire Fermi surface.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of the non-equilibrium state of strongly correlated materials by complementary ultrafast spectroscopy techniques
H. Hedayat,Charles J. Sayers,A. Ceraso,J. van Wezel,Stephen R. Clark,Claudia Dallera,Giulio Cerullo,E. Da Como,Ettore Carpene +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a combination of time-resolved reflectivity and time and angle-resolution photoemission spectroscopy was used to investigate the complex charge density wave (CDW) phase in 1T-TiSe2 and showed the key role of lattice degrees of freedom to establish and stabilize the CDW.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Combined ultrafast spectroscopy techniques discloses the microscopic electron lattice interplay behind charge density waves
H. Hedayat,A. Ceraso,Charles J. Sayers,S. Dal Conte,J. van Wezel,Stephen R. Clark,E. Da Como,Giulio Cerullo,Claudia Dallera,Ettore Carpene +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated charge density wave (CDW) behavior in transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) after photo-excitation and during the relaxation time.
