Fuzzy c-means clustering of partially missing data sets

TL;DR: Two adaptations of fuzzy c-means to the incomplete data case are presented here and one replaces unknown feature values with additional variables that are optimized to prove an extrapolated data set yielding the smallest possible value of the fuzzy c -means criterion.

PLAYMAKER: a knowledge-based approach to characterizing hydrocarbon plays

TL;DR: In this article, a knowledge base system for characterizing hydrocarbon plays is presented, called PLAYMAKER, based on the Dempster-Shafer evidence combination scheme, which is implemented using a rule-based expert system shell that incorporates mixed-iniative reasoning and inexact reasoning.
