Studies on the antitumor activity of group VIII transition metal complexes. Part I. Platinum (II) complexes
TL;DR: A wide variety of Platinum(II) complexes have been investigated for antitumor activity against Sarcoma 180 in Swiss white female mice as mentioned in this paper, and the results showed that only neutral complexes exhibit activity while charged species are inactive and relatively nontoxic.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kinetic analysis of the in vitro binding of radioactive cis- and trans-dichlorodiammineplatinum(II) to DNA☆
TL;DR: The binding of cis(c)- and trans(t)-Pt(NH3)2Cl2 to DNA at platinum/DNA-nucleotide ratios (Ri) of 0.1 or less has been studied by means of radioactive 195mPt-labeled compounds, suggesting that both compounds should bind to DNA under biological conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Implications for the Spectroscopic Assignment of Vanadium Biomolecules: Structural and Spectroscopic Characterization of Monooxovanadium(V) Complexes Containing Catecholate and Hydroximate Based Noninnocent Ligands
TL;DR: Forty-one compounds of the general formula V v OLL', where L is a tridentate ligand (HSALIMH = [4-(2-salicylideneaminato)ethyl]imidazole; H 2 SHED = N-(saliclyideneaminaato)-N'-(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine; HENSAL = n-(salisticylideniaminato)-ethylENiamine) and L' is a bidentate, noninnocent ligand as mentioned in this paper ).
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural and spectroscopic characterization of dioxovanadium(V) complexes with asymmetric Schiff base ligands
Charles A. Root,James D. Hoeschele,Charles R. Cornman,Charles R. Cornman,Jeff W. Kampf,Vincent L. Pecoraro +5 more
TL;DR: A wide range of asymmetric Schiff base ligands containing primary amine functions can be prepared in one step and in high yield by the reaction of VO(OEt) 3 with salicylaldehyde and the appropriate diamine.
Journal ArticleDOI
In Vivo and in Vitro binding of platinum to metallothionein
TL;DR: Gel filtration of tissue extracts after either in vivo or in vitro treatment with DDP showed that Pt was bound to a molecular species with properties characteristic of MT, verified by atomic absorption spectrophotometry and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis assays.
