A Genome-Wide Association Study of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Identifies New Disease Loci
Ying Liu,Cynthia Helms,Wilson Liao,Lisa C. Zaba,Shenghui Duan,Jennifer M. Gardner,Carol Wise,Andrew Miner,Mary J. Malloy,Clive R. Pullinger,John P. Kane,Scott F. Saccone,Jane Worthington,Ian C Bruce,Pui-Yan Kwok,Alan Menter,James M Krueger,Anne Barton,Nancy L. Saccone,Anne M. Bowcock +19 more
TL;DR: A genome-wide association study was performed to identify genetic factors involved in susceptibility to psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, inflammatory diseases of the skin and joints in humans, and identified a novel PSA (and potentially PS) locus on chromosome 4q27.

Decreased TNF-alpha synthesis by macrophages restricts cutaneous immunosurveillance by memory CD4(+) T cells during aging
E Agius,E Agius,Katie E. Lacy,Katie E. Lacy,Milica Vukmanovic-Stejic,Ann L. Jagger,Anna-Pia Papageorgiou,Susan M. Hall,John R. Reed,John R. Reed,S. John Curnow,Judilyn Fuentes-Duculan,Christopher D. Buckley,Mike Salmon,Leonie S. Taams,James M Krueger,John Greenwood,Nigel Klein,Malcolm H.A. Rustin,Arne N. Akbar +19 more
TL;DR: It is shown that cutaneous delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) responses to recall antigens are significantly decreased in older individuals, and the decreased conditioning of tissue microenvironments by macrophage-derived cytokines may lead to defective immunosurveillance by memory T cells.
