En route to surface-bound electric field-driven molecular motors.

TL;DR: Four caltrop-shaped molecules that might be useful as surface-bound electric field-driven molecular motors have been synthesized and Ellipsometric studies show that self-assembled monolayers of the caltrops are formed on Au surfaces with molecular thicknesses consistent with the desired upright-shaft arrangement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant single-walled carbon nanotubes.

TL;DR: Cytotoxicity assays showed that both nonfunctionalized and BHT-derivatized SWCNTs have little or no deleterious effect on cell viability, suggesting that SWC NTs may be attractive agents for antioxidant materials and medical therapeutics research.
Journal ArticleDOI

Graphene Quantum Dots Doping of MoS2 Monolayers

TL;DR: The photon-exciton interaction is used to explain and calculate the heterostructure PL control, and is further applied to the valley-polarization tuning.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nanocell logic gates for molecular computing

TL;DR: Genetic algorithm-based simulations of molecular device structures in a nanocell where placement and connectivity of the internal molecular switches are not specifically directed and the internal topology is generally disordered show that it is possible to use easily fabricated nanocells as logic devices by setting theinternal molecular switch states after the topological molecular assembly is complete.
