Removal of Stratospheric O3 by Radicals: In Situ Measurements of OH, HO2, NO, NO2, ClO, and BrO
Paul O. Wennberg,Ronald C. Cohen,R. M. Stimpfle,J. P. Koplow,James G. Anderson,Ross J. Salawitch,David W. Fahey,E. L. Woodbridge,E. R. Keim,Ru-Shan Gao,C. R. Webster,R. D. May,Darin W. Toohey,Linnea M. Avallone,Michael H. Proffitt,Max Loewenstein,James R. Podolske,K. R. Chan,S. C. Wofsy +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, in situ measurements of the concentrations of OH, HO_2, ClO, BrO, NO, and NO_2 demonstrate the predominance of odd-hydrogen and halogen free-radical catalysis in determining the rate of removal of ozone in the lower stratosphere during May 1993.

TL;DR: In this article, the first major release of the OCO2 retrieval algorithm (B7r) and X_(CO2) from OCO-2's primary ground-based validation network: the Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON) were compared.

Stratospheric Mean Ages and Transport Rates from Observations of Carbon Dioxide and Nitrous Oxide
K. A. Boering,S. C. Wofsy,Bruce C. Daube,Helga Schneider,Max Loewenstein,James R. Podolske,Thomas J. Conway +6 more
TL;DR: Comparison of values for A from models and observations indicates that current model simulations likely underestimate pollutant concentrations from proposed stratospheric aircraft by 25 to 100 percent.

Ozone loss in the Arctic polar vortex inferred from high-altitude aircraft measurements
Michael H. Proffitt,Michael H. Proffitt,James J. Margitan,K. K. Kelly,Max Loewenstein,James R. Podolske,K. R. Chan +6 more
TL;DR: The Arctic polar vortex in winter is known to be chemically primed for ozone depletion, yet it does not exhibit the large seasonal ozone decrease that characterizes its southern counterpart as mentioned in this paper, which may be due in part to a net flux of ozone-rich air through the Arctic vortex, which can mask ozone loss.
