Unexpected ferromagnetic interaction in a new tetranuclear copper(II) complex: synthesis, crystal structure, magnetic properties, and theoretical studies.
Matilde Fondo,Ana M. García-Deibe,Monstserrat Corbella,Eliseo Ruiz,Javier Tercero,Jesús Sanmartín,Manuel R. Bermejo,Manuel R. Bermejo +7 more
TL;DR: Density functional calculations allow the assignment of the different magnetic coupling constants and explain the unexpected ferromagnetic behavior, because of the presence of an unusual NCN bridging moiety and countercomplementarity of the phenoxo (or carbonate) and NCN bridges.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and Magnetic Properties of Four New (Cu−Ni)2 Tetranuclear Complexes of General Formula [Cu(oxpn)Ni(μ-NCS)(H2O)(aa)]2(X)2 (oxpn = N,N‘-Bis(3-aminopropyl)oxamide; aa = Bidentate Amine; X = ClO4- or PF6-). Ferro- and Antiferromagnetic Alternation
Joan Ribas,Carmen Diaz,Ramon Costa,Javier Tercero,Xavier Solans,Mercè Font-Bardia,Helen Stoeckli-Evans +6 more
TL;DR: The reaction of ethanolic/water solutions of NiX2·6H2O (X = NO3-, ClO4-), bidentate amine N,N,N',N`-tetramethylethylenediamine (tmen) and N, N, n'N'-trimethylethyenediamines (trimen) with [Cu(oxpn)] (o...

Ferromagnetic Coupling in a New Copper(II) Schiff Base Complex with Cubane Core: Structure, Magnetic Properties, DFT Study and Catalytic Activity
Santarupa Thakurta,Partha Roy,Partha Roy,Ray J. Butcher,M. Salah El Fallah,Javier Tercero,Eugenio Garribba,Samiran Mitra +7 more
TL;DR: A tetranuclear complex, [Cu4L4]·2H2O (1), has been synthesized from the self-assembly of copper(II) perchlorate and the tridentate Schiff base ligand 4-chloro-2-[(E)-(2-hydroxyethylimino)methyl]phenol (H2L) as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
New oxamidato-bridged Cu(II)-Ni(II) complexes: supramolecular structures with thiocyanate ligands and hydrogen bonds. Magnetostructural studies: DFT calculations.
TL;DR: Four new supramolecular compounds of Cu(II)-Ni(II) have been synthesized and characterized and DFT calculations were made to study the contribution of the SCN(-) and hydrogen bond bridges in the magnetic coupling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, characterization and magnetostructural correlation studies on three binuclear copper complexes of pyrimidine derived Schiff base ligands
Samik Gupta,Sachindranath Pal,Anil Kumar Barik,Arijit Hazra,Somnath C. Roy,Tarak Nath Mandal,Shie-Ming Peng,Gene-Hsiang Lee,M. Salah El Fallah,Javier Tercero,Susanta Kumar Kar +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, three binuclear Cu(II) complexes of two pyrimidine derived Schiff base ligands, 2-S -methyl-6-methyl-4-formyl pyridine- N (4)-ethyl thiosemicarbazone (HL 1 ) and salicyl hydrazone of 2-hydrazino-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine (HL 2 ), have been prepared.
