Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidative properties of pyruvate and protection of the ischemic rat heart during cardioplegia.

TL;DR: It is shown that pyruvate could prevent reperfusion injuries in the isolated heart, probably by its antioxidative properties, and the application of pyruVate may contribute to the preservation of hearts for organ transplantation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impaired fasting glucose and cardiogenic shock in patients with acute myocardial infarction

TL;DR: MI patients with IFG had an overall worse outcome, characterized by a higher risk of developing cardiogenic shock during their hospital stay, after adjustment for confounding factors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Major prognostic impact of persistent microvascular obstruction as assessed by contrast-enhanced cardiac magnetic resonance in reperfused acute myocardial infarction

TL;DR: The data suggest that the prognostic impact of PMO might be superior to MO, and high Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events (GRACE) risk score, associated with GRACE score, were predictors of MACE.
