Journal ArticleDOI
Multifocal Ectopic Purkinje-Related Premature Contractions A New SCN5A-Related Cardiac Channelopathy
Gabriel Laurent,Samuel Saal,Mohamed Yassine Amarouch,Delphine M. Béziau,Roos F. Marsman,Laurence Faivre,Julien Barc,Christian Dina,Géraldine Bertaux,Olivier Barthez,Christel Thauvin-Robinet,Philippe Charron,Véronique Fressart,Alice Maltret,Elisabeth Villain,Estelle Baron,Jean Mérot,Rodolphe Turpault,Yves Coudière,Flavien Charpentier,Jean-Jacques Schott,Gildas Loussouarn,Arthur A.M. Wilde,Jean-Eric Wolf,Isabelle Baró,Florence Kyndt,Vincent Probst +26 more
TL;DR: A new SCN5A-related cardiac syndrome, MEPPC, was identified, which leads to a gain of function of the sodium channel responsible for hyperexcitability of the fascicular-Purkinje system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long chain n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids reduce atrial vulnerability in a novel canine pacing model
Gabriel Laurent,Gordon W. Moe,Gordon W. Moe,Xudong Hu,Xudong Hu,Bruce J. Holub,Howard Leong-Poi,Howard Leong-Poi,Judy Trogadis,Kim A. Connelly,Kim A. Connelly,David W. Courtman,David W. Courtman,Bradley H. Strauss,Paul Dorian,Paul Dorian,Paul Dorian +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) on atrial fibrillation (AF) vulnerability and atrial structure in a new model of atrial cardiomyopathy was assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI
n-3 Polyunsaturated fatty acids alter expression of fibrotic and hypertrophic genes in a dog model of atrial cardiomyopathy
Andrew Ramadeen,Gabriel Laurent,Claudia C. dos Santos,Xudong Hu,Kim A. Connelly,Kim A. Connelly,Bruce J. Holub,Iqwal Mangat,Iqwal Mangat,Paul Dorian +9 more
TL;DR: The effect of PUFAs on these fibrosis, hypertrophy, and inflammation related genes suggests that, in this model, PUFA-mediated prevention of AF may be due to attenuation of adverse remodeling at the genetic level in response to mechanical stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence and Predictors of New-Onset Atrial Fibrillation in Septic Shock Patients in a Medical ICU: Data from 7-Day Holter ECG Monitoring.
Charles Guenancia,Christine Binquet,Gabriel Laurent,Sandrine Vinault,Rémi Bruyère,Sébastien Prin,Arnaud Pavon,Pierre Emmanuel Charles,Jean Pierre Quenot +8 more
TL;DR: NAF is common, especially in older patients, and is associated with low ejection fraction, and does not find NAF to be independently associated with higher mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Atrial dyssynchrony syndrome: an overlooked phenomenon and a potential cause of 'diastolic' heart failure.
Jean-Christophe Eicher,Gabriel Laurent,Anaelle Mathe,Olivier Barthez,Géraldine Bertaux,Jean-Luc Philip,Paul Dorian,Jean-Eric Wolf +7 more
TL;DR: The purpose of the present study was too explore the role of interatrial dyssynchrony in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF).
