Proceedings ArticleDOI

A low-cost, open-source, compliant hand for enabling sensorimotor control for people with transradial amputations

TL;DR: It is shown that using contact reflexes and sensory substitution, when compared to standard myoelectric prostheses that lack these features, improves grasping of delicate objects like an eggshell and a cup of water both with and without visual feedback.
Journal ArticleDOI

Author Correction: A wireless haptic interface for programmable patterns of touch across large areas of the skin

TL;DR: A wireless haptic interface with the ability to display vibro-tactile patterns across large areas of the skin in single units or through a wirelessly coordinated collection of them is reported, which can be used to convey navigation instructions, to translate musical tracks into tactile patterns and to support sensory replacement feedback for the control of robotic prosthetics.
