Journal ArticleDOI

Application of vicinal carbon-proton coupling constants to the conformational analysis of benzylidene-type acetals of 1,6-anhydro-β-D-hexopyranoses

TL;DR: In this paper, the conformation of dioxolane-type acetals of 1,6-anhydro-β- d -hexopyranoses has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods.
Journal ArticleDOI

A murine monoclonal antibody to glycogen: characterization of epitope-fine specificity by saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR spectroscopy and its use in mycobacterial capsular α-glucan research.

TL;DR: It is shown that a murine monoclonal antibody directed against glycogen cross‐reacts with mycobacterial α‐glucans, polymers of α(1–4)‐linked glucose residues with α( 1–6)‐branch points are important in glucan–Mab interaction and the Mab epitope specificity is identified by saturation transfer difference NMR.
Journal ArticleDOI

The interaction of fluorinated glycomimetics with DC-SIGN: multiple binding modes disentangled by the combination of NMR methods and MD simulations

TL;DR: A new methodology based on the synergic combination of experimental 19F-based saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR data with computational protocols, applied to analyze the interaction between DC-SIGN and trifluorinated glycomimetic of the trimannoside core, ubiquitous in human glycoproteins is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

The conformation of 1,6-anhydrolactose and its hexa-acetate in solution.

TL;DR: The conformation of 1,6-anhydrolactoase has been investigated by n.r.m. spectroscopy and molecular mechanics calculations and shows a similar conformational behaviour to the hexa-acetate.
