Activation tagging of the floral inducer FT.
Igor Kardailsky,Vipula K. Shukla,Ji Hoon Ahn,Nicole Dagenais,Sioux K. Christensen,Jasmine Thuy Nguyen,Joanne Chory,Maria J. Harrison,Detlef Weigel +8 more
TL;DR: FLOWERING LOCUS T (FT), which acts in parallel with the meristem-identity gene LEAFY (LFY) to induce flowering of Arabidopsis, was isolated by activation tagging and the deduced sequence was similar to the sequence of TERMINAL FLOWER 1 (TFL1), an inhibitor of flowering that also shares sequence similarity with membrane-associated mammalian proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI
Activation tagging in Arabidopsis.

Yanofsky,Joanne Chory,Joanne Chory +22 more
TL;DR: Activation tagging using T-DNA vectors that contain multimerized transcriptional enhancers from the cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) 35S gene has been applied to Arabidopsis plants, and it is shown that overexpressed genes are almost always found immediately adjacent to the inserted CaMV 35S enhancers.
Journal ArticleDOI
The AGAMOUS-LIKE 20 MADS domain protein integrates floral inductive pathways in Arabidopsis
Horim Lee,Sung Suk Suh,Eunsook Park,Euna Cho,Ji Hoon Ahn,Sang Gu Kim,Jong Seob Lee,Young Myung Kwon,Ilha Lee +8 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that AGL20 is an important integrator of three pathways controlling flowering in Arabidopsis, and is positively regulated not only by the redundant vernalization and autonomous pathways of flowering but also by the photoperiod pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of SVP in the control of flowering time by ambient temperature in Arabidopsis
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that Arabidopsis SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE (SVP) plays an important role in the response of plants to ambient temperature changes and it is proposed that this is one of the molecular mechanisms that modulate flowering time under fluctuating temperature conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
CONSTANS activates SUPPRESSOR OF OVEREXPRESSION OF CONSTANS 1 through FLOWERING LOCUS T to promote flowering in Arabidopsis.
Seung Kwan Yoo,Kyung Sook Chung,Joon-Ki Kim,Jeong Hwan Lee,Sung Myun Hong,Seong Jeon Yoo,So Yeon Yoo,Jong Seob Lee,Ji Hoon Ahn +8 more
TL;DR: Genetic and expression analyses suggest that CO activates SOC1 through FT to promote flowering in Arabidopsis, indicating that FT is required for SOC1 induction by CO.
