Delivery of Dust Grains from Comet C/2013 A1 (Siding Spring) to Mars

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors model the dynamical evolution of dust grains from the time of their ejection from the comet nucleus to the close encounter with Mars, and determine the flux at Mars.
Journal ArticleDOI

The origin of pits on 9P/Tempel 1 and the geologic signature of outbursts in Stardust-NExT images

TL;DR: Reach et al. as mentioned in this paper considered the origin of ∼380 quasi-circular depressions (pits) seen to be distributed in a broad band across the surface of 9P/Tempel 1 and showed that possibly ∼96% may be due to outburst activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectral analysis of the bright materials on the asteroid Vesta

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed analysis of the spectral properties of a large number of bright material units on Vesta including examples of the different morphological classes was performed, and the spectral parameters used are band centers, band depths, and Band Area Ratio (BAR) for the pyroxene bands at ∼ 0.9 and ∼ 1.9 μm.
