Journal ArticleDOI

Low Proviral Load is Associated with Indeterminate Western Blot Patterns in Human T-Cell Lymphotropic Virus Type 1 Infected Individuals: Could Punctual Mutations be Related?

TL;DR: Indeterminate WB results confirmed later as HTLV-1 positive may be associated with low PVL levels, and mutations in LTR and tax are described; their functional relevance remains to be determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of HIV-ART on the restoration of Th17 and Treg cells in blood and female genital mucosa.

TL;DR: Antiretroviral treatment did not restore Th17-related immune functions completely at the female mucosal level, and positive correlations between these cells and the levels of IL-17F and IL-21 production by CMCs may suggest that a better homing of These cells to the intestine could also imply a better restoration of these cells in the female genital tract.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phenotype, Polyfunctionality, and Antiviral Activity of in vitro Stimulated CD8+ T-Cells From HIV+ Subjects Who Initiated cART at Different Time-Points After Acute Infection.

TL;DR: It is shown that, despite being dampened in subjects on cART, the HIV-specific CD8TC response could be selectively stimulated and expanded in vitro, presenting a high proportion of cells able to carry-out multiple effector functions.
