Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid acceleration of ferrous iron/peroxymonosulfate oxidation of organic pollutants by promoting Fe(III)/Fe(II) cycle with hydroxylamine.
TL;DR: The present study adds hydroxylamine (HA), a common reducing agent, into Fe(II)/PMS process to accelerate the transformation from Fe(III) to Fe( II) and generates reactive oxidants capable of degrading refractory organic contaminants in water treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Removal of 2-MIB and geosmin using UV/persulfate: Contributions of hydroxyl and sulfate radicals
TL;DR: The results showed that both 2-MIB and geosmin could be degraded effectively using this process and were likely to be the main radical scavengers in natural waters when using UV/persulfate process to control 2- MIB and Geosmin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption of perfluorinated acids onto soils: Kinetics, isotherms, and influences of soil properties
TL;DR: The linear regression between distribution coefficient (Kd) and individual soil property as well as principle component analysis were conducted for determining the dominant soil physicochemical properties affecting the adsorption of PFAs onto soil, indicating that the content of protein rather than of total organic carbon was the dominant property.
Journal ArticleDOI
A mini review of preoxidation to improve coagulation.
TL;DR: The mechanisms, drawbacks and applications in the improvement of coagulation were summarized in this work and some future developments of preoxidation process were suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of UV/persulfate pretreatment on the formation of disinfection byproducts during subsequent chlorination of natural organic matter
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the impact of pre-treatment of chlorinated disinfection byproducts (DBPs) on the formation of DBPs during subsequent chlorination of natural organic matter.
