Genome-Wide Association Studies of Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder in a Diverse Cohort of US Veterans
Tim B. Bigdeli,Ayman H. Fanous,Yuli Li,Nallakkandi Rajeevan,Frederick G. Sayward,Hongyu Zhao,Mary Brophy,Saiju Pyarajan,Timothy J. O'Leary,Theresa Gleason,Ronald Przygodszki,Sumitra Muralidhar,J. Michael Gaziano,John Concato,Larry J. Siever,Mihaela Aslan,Philip D. Harvey +16 more
TL;DR: The genome-wide association studies of Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder in a Diverse Cohort of US Veterans shows clear ties to each other, and suggest a need for further research into the drivers of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Respiratory impairment and COPD hospitalisation in older persons: a competing risk analysis.
TL;DR: In older white persons, LMS-defined respiratory impairment is strongly associated with an increased risk of COPD hospitalisation and these results support the LMS method as a basis for defining respiratory impairment in older persons.
Journal Article
Risk communication in rheumatoid arthritis.
TL;DR: The results suggest that patients with rheumatoid arthritis may treat particularly worrisome AE as protected values, which may lead to poor decision-making in clinical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Real-World Evidence - Where Are We Now?
TL;DR: Realworld Data and Evidence: Realworld Data (RWD) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) as discussed by the authors have been widely used to assess the impact of clinical data and evidence and hindered attempts to track their use.
Journal ArticleDOI
Factor structure of cognition and functional capacity in two studies of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder: Implications for genomic studies.
Philip D. Harvey,Mihaela Aslan,Mengtian Du,Hongyu Zhao,Larry J. Siever,Ann E. Pulver,J. Michael Gaziano,John Concato +7 more
TL;DR: The empirically derived factor model suggests that NP performance and FC are best explained as a single latent trait applicable to people with SCZ and BPD, which may enhance the robustness of the analyses relating genomic data to performance-based phenotypes.
