Journal ArticleDOI
Amiloride and amiloride analogs inhibit Na+/K+-transporting ATPase and Na+-coupled alanine transport in rat hepatocytes
TL;DR: It is indicated that amiloride, DMA, and EIA inhibit hepatic Na+/K+-ATPase directly, reversibly, and with a relative rank order potency of EIA greater than DMA greater than amil oride, and presumably could indirectly inhibit other Na+-coupled transport processes as well.
Journal ArticleDOI
Retransplantation of patients with severe posttransplant hepatitis B in the first allograft.
Michael B. Ishitani,Michael B. Ishitani,R. McGory,Rolland C. Dickson,Stephen H. Caldwell,Stephen J. Bickston,C. McCullough,Timothy L. Pruett,Norah A. Terrault,John P. Roberts,Nancy L. Ascher,Teresa L. Wright,John R. Lake +12 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that patients with recurrent or de novo hepatitis B after OLTX can be successfully retransplanted using aggressive immunoprophylaxis to prevent HBV reinfection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Steroid minimization in liver transplant recipients: Impact on hepatitis C recurrence and post-transplant diabetes
Abhinav Humar,Shaina Crotteau,Angelika C. Gruessner,Raja Kandaswamy,Rainer W.G. Gruessner,William D. Payne,John R. Lake +6 more
TL;DR: Outcomes for liver transplant recipients with a regimen using rapid discontinuation of prednisone (RDP) with Steroid minimization regimens have become increasingly popular for kidney transplant recipients.
