Spin-up from rest in a stratified fluid: boundary flows

TL;DR: In this paper, an integrated experimental, numerical and theoretical examination of spin-up from rest of a stratified fluid is presented, which is characterized by an axisymmetric circulation driven by nonlinear Ekman layers adjoining the horizontal boundaries.

Evaporatively Driven Convection in a Draining Soap Film

TL;DR: A soap film was created by dipping a rectangular w frame of height 3.5 cm and width 15 cm into a solution 95% by volume distilled water, 4% clear liquid Ivory soa and 1% glycerine as discussed by the authors.
