Journal ArticleDOI

Anchialine fauna of the Corona lava tube (Lanzarote, Canary Islands): diversity, endemism and distribution

TL;DR: A checklist of 77 taxa recorded from the anchialine sections of the Corona lava tube is provided, including information on habitats, faunal distribution within the cave, and main references.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geographical expansion of the invader Caprella scaura (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Caprellidae) to the East Atlantic coast

TL;DR: It is confirmed that the populations of C. scaura are effectively established, with high densities and reproducing females during the whole year, and significant correlation was found between female size and number of eggs in the three populations, but egg size did not vary with female body length.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polychaetes associated to a Cymodocea nodosa meadow in the Canary Islands: assemblage structure, temporal variability and vertical distribution compared to other Mediterranean seagrass meadows

TL;DR: The structure, diversity and temporal distribution of the infaunal polychaetes associated with Cymodocea nodosa meadows were studied in Tenerife and indicated that the structural characteristics of the assemblages appeared to be more strongly controlled by the combined characteristics ofThe sediment than by the seagrass species building the meadow.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clear regression of harvested intertidal mollusks. A 20-year (1994-2014) comparative study.

TL;DR: Using mollusk shell size as a measure of size distribution and reproductive potential of intertidal limpets, a long-term comparison of limpet size has been conducted as a surrogate of the state of conservation of these two limpets.
