Journal ArticleDOI
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement using a self-expanding bioprosthesis in patients with severe aortic stenosis at extreme risk for surgery.
Jeffrey J. Popma,David H. Adams,Michael J. Reardon,Steven J. Yakubov,Neal S. Kleiman,David Heimansohn,James B. Hermiller,G. Chad Hughes,J. Kevin Harrison,Joseph S. Coselli,Jose G Diez,Ali Kafi,Theodore Schreiber,Thomas G. Gleason,John V. Conte,Maurice Buchbinder,G. Michael Deeb,Blase A. Carabello,Patrick W. Serruys,Sharla Chenoweth,Jae K. Oh +20 more
TL;DR: TAVR with a self-expanding bioprosthesis was safe and effective in patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis at prohibitive risk for surgical valve replacement.
Journal ArticleDOI
2-Year Outcomes after Iliofemoral Self-Expanding Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients with Severe Aortic Stenosis Deemed Extreme Risk for Surgery
Steven J. Yakubov,David H. Adams,Daniel R. Watson,Michael J. Reardon,Neal S. Kleiman,David Heimansohn,James B. Hermiller,G. Chad Hughes,J. Kevin Harrison,Joseph S. Coselli,Jose G Diez,Theodore Schreiber,Thomas G. Gleason,John V. Conte,G. Michael Deeb,Jian Huang,Jae Oh,Timothy Byrne,Michael Caskey,Jeffrey J. Popma +19 more
TL;DR: Patients with severe AS at extreme surgical risk treated with self-expanding TAVR continued to show good clinical outcomes and hemodynamic valve performance at 2 years, and the presence of comorbid conditions rather than valve performance affected 2-year outcomes in these patients.
Journal Article
Pharmacoinvasive management of acute coronary syndrome: incorporating the 2007 ACC/AHA guidelines: the CATH (cardiac catheterization and antithrombotic therapy in the hospital) Clinical Consensus Panel Report--III.
Marc Cohen,Jose G Diez,Glenn N. Levine,James J. Ferguson,David A. Morrow,Sunil V. Rao,James P. Zidar +6 more
TL;DR: Evidence-based strategies suggest that prompt mechanical revascularization is associated with the best possible clinical outcomes, particularly for patients with high-risk features and in whom benefits of adjunctive, pharmacoinvasive antithrombotic therapies can be consolidated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differentiating ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction from Nonischemic ST-Elevation in Patients With Chest Pain
Viet Tran,Henry D. Huang,Jose G Diez,Jose G Diez,Gerardo Kalife,Rajiv Goswami,David Paniagua,Hani Jneid,James M. Wilson,James M. Wilson,Scott R. Sherron,Yochai Birnbaum,Yochai Birnbaum +12 more
TL;DR: There are wide variations in experienced interventional cardiologists in differentiating STEMI with a need for pPCI from NISTE, and broad inconsistencies existed among readers as to the chosen reasons for NISTe classification.

Bernardo Lombo,Imran Alkhalil,Marjorie Golden,Irma Fotjadhi,Sreedhar Ravi,Michael Virata,Marta Lievano,Jose G Diez,Andre Ghantous,Thomas J. Donohue +9 more
TL;DR: There is a high prevalence of metabolic syndrome and obesity in HIV patients treated with cART, especially those taking the protease inhibitor darunavir.
