Differential Association of Circadian Genes with Mood Disorders: CRY1 and NPAS2 are Associated with Unipolar Major Depression and CLOCK and VIP with Bipolar Disorder
Virginia Soria,Erika Martínez-Amorós,Geòrgia Escaramís,Joaquín Valero,Rosario Pérez-Egea,Cecilia García,Alfonso Gutiérrez-Zotes,Dolors Puigdemont,Mònica Bayés,José Manuel Crespo,José Manuel Crespo,Lourdes Martorell,Elisabet Vilella,Antonio Labad,Julio Vallejo,Julio Vallejo,Víctor Pérez,José M. Menchón,José M. Menchón,Xavier Estivill,Mònica Gratacòs,Mikel Urretavizcaya,Mikel Urretavizcaya +22 more
TL;DR: The data support the contribution of the circadian system to the genetic susceptibility to MD and suggest that different circadian genes may have specific effects on MD polarity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy of Functional Remediation in Bipolar Disorder: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Study
Carla Torrent,Caterina del Mar Bonnín,Anabel Martínez-Arán,Jesús del Valle,Benedikt L. Amann,Ana González-Pinto,José Manuel Crespo,Angela Ibáñez,Mari Paz Garcia-Portilla,Rafael Tabarés-Seisdedos,Celso Arango,Francesc Colom,Brisa Solé,Isabella Pacchiarotti,Adriane R. Rosa,José Luis Ayuso-Mateos,Celia Anaya,P. Fernández,Ramon Landin-Romero,Silvia Alonso-Lana,Jordi Ortiz-Gil,Bàrbara Segura,Sara Barbeito,Patricia Vega,M. Saiz,Vicent Balanzá-Martínez,Gabriel Selva,Inmaculada Fuentes-Durá,Patricia Correa,Maria Mayoral,Guadalupe Chiclana,Jessica Merchán-Naranjo,Marta Rapado-Castro,Manel Salamero,Eduard Vieta +47 more
TL;DR: Functional remediation showed efficacy in improving the functional outcome of a sample of euthymic bipolar patients as compared with treatment as usual, suggesting an interaction between treatment assignment and time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic variants and abnormal processing of pre-miR-182, a circadian clock modulator, in major depression patients with late insomnia
Ester Saus,Virginia Soria,Geòrgia Escaramís,Francesca Vivarelli,José Manuel Crespo,José Manuel Crespo,Birgit Kagerbauer,José M. Menchón,José M. Menchón,Mikel Urretavizcaya,Mikel Urretavizcaya,Mònica Gratacòs,Xavier Estivill +12 more
TL;DR: Data indicate that abnormal processing of pre-miR-182 in patients carrying the T allele of the rs76481776 polymorphism may contribute to the dysregulation of circadian rhythms in MD patients with insomnia, which could influence expression levels of the mature form of miR- 182 and might increase downregulation in some of its target genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk factors for suicide in schizophrenia: systematic review and clinical recommendations
Dina Popovic,Antoni Benabarre,José Manuel Crespo,Jose Manuel Goikolea,Ana González-Pinto,Luis Gutiérrez-Rojas,José Manuel Montes,Eduard Vieta +7 more
TL;DR: To identify risk factors associated with suicide of patients with schizophrenia and provide clinical recommendations, which integrate research findings into a consensus based on clinical experience and evidence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Perceived parental rearing style in obsessive-compulsive disorder: relation to symptom dimensions
Pino Alonso,José M. Menchón,David Mataix-Cols,Josep Pifarré,Mikel Urretavizcaya,José Manuel Crespo,Susana Jiménez,Gema Vallejo,Julio Vallejo +8 more
TL;DR: Compared with healthy controls, OCD patients perceived higher levels of rejection from their fathers, and the expression of particular OCD symptom dimensions could not be predicted by scores on any perceived parental characteristics.
