Journal ArticleDOI
Validity and reliability of the Functioning Assessment Short Test (FAST) in bipolar disorder.
Adriane R. Rosa,J. Sánchez-Moreno,Anabel Martínez-Arán,Manel Salamero,Carla Torrent,María Reinares,Mercè Comes,Francesc Colom,Willemijn Van Riel,José Luis Ayuso-Mateos,Flávio Kapczinski,Eduard Vieta +11 more
TL;DR: The FAST showed strong psychometrics properties and was able to detect differences between euthymic and acute BD patients, and is a short (6 minutes) simple interview-administered instrument, which is easy to apply and requires only a short period of time to apply.
Journal ArticleDOI
Serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor is decreased in bipolar disorder during depressive and manic episodes.
Angelo Batista Miralha da Cunha,Benicio N. Frey,Ana Cristina Andreazza,Júlia D. Goi,Adriane R. Rosa,Carlos A. Gonçalves,Aida Santin,Flávio Kapczinski +7 more
TL;DR: Serum BDNF levels were decreased in manic and depressed BD patients and in matched healthy controls, and these findings further support the hypothesis that the BDNF signaling system may play a role in the pathophysiology of BD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Serum S100B and antioxidant enzymes in bipolar patients
Ana Cristina Andreazza,Carina Cassini,Adriane R. Rosa,Marina Concli Leite,Lúcia Maria Vieira de Almeida,Patrı´cia Nardin,Angelo B.N. Cunha,Keila Maria Mendes Ceresér,Aida Santin,Carmem Gottfried,Mirian Salvador,Flávio Kapczinski,Carlos Alberto Gonçalves +12 more
TL;DR: A peripheral oxidative imbalance indicates that systemic changes are taking place during the active phases of the illness, as indicated by serum S100B elevation, which appears to relate to astrocyte function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical and neurocognitive predictors of functional outcome in bipolar euthymic patients: A long-term, follow-up study
Caterina del Mar Bonnín,Anabel Martínez-Arán,Carla Torrent,Isabella Pacchiarotti,Adriane R. Rosa,Carolina Franco,Andrea Murru,José Sánchez-Moreno,Eduard Vieta +8 more
TL;DR: Subdepressive symptomatology together with neurocognitive impairments related to verbal memory and executive functions are predictor variables of long-term functional outcome in bipolar disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy of Functional Remediation in Bipolar Disorder: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Study
Carla Torrent,Caterina del Mar Bonnín,Anabel Martínez-Arán,Jesús del Valle,Benedikt L. Amann,Ana González-Pinto,José Manuel Crespo,Angela Ibáñez,Mari Paz Garcia-Portilla,Rafael Tabarés-Seisdedos,Celso Arango,Francesc Colom,Brisa Solé,Isabella Pacchiarotti,Adriane R. Rosa,José Luis Ayuso-Mateos,Celia Anaya,P. Fernández,Ramon Landin-Romero,Silvia Alonso-Lana,Jordi Ortiz-Gil,Bàrbara Segura,Sara Barbeito,Patricia Vega,M. Fernández,Amaia Ugarte,Marta Subirà,Ester Cerrillo,Nuria Custal,José M. Menchón,Jerónimo Saiz-Ruiz,José María Rodao,Sandra Isella,Analucia A. Alegria,Susana Al-Halabí,Julio Bobes,Gonzalo Galván,Pilar A. Saiz,Vicent Balanzá-Martínez,Gabriel Selva,Inmaculada Fuentes-Durá,Patricia Correa,Maria Mayoral,Guadalupe Chiclana,Jessica Merchán-Naranjo,Marta Rapado-Castro,Manel Salamero,Eduard Vieta +47 more
TL;DR: Functional remediation showed efficacy in improving the functional outcome of a sample of euthymic bipolar patients as compared with treatment as usual, suggesting an interaction between treatment assignment and time.
