Efficacy of Functional Remediation in Bipolar Disorder: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Study
Carla Torrent,Caterina del Mar Bonnín,Anabel Martínez-Arán,Jesús del Valle,Benedikt L. Amann,Ana González-Pinto,José Manuel Crespo,Angela Ibáñez,Mari Paz Garcia-Portilla,Rafael Tabarés-Seisdedos,Celso Arango,Francesc Colom,Brisa Solé,Isabella Pacchiarotti,Adriane R. Rosa,José Luis Ayuso-Mateos,Celia Anaya,P. Fernández,Ramon Landin-Romero,Silvia Alonso-Lana,Jordi Ortiz-Gil,Bàrbara Segura,Sara Barbeito,Patricia Vega,M. Fernández,Amaia Ugarte,Marta Subirà,Ester Cerrillo,Nuria Custal,José M. Menchón,Jerónimo Saiz-Ruiz,José María Rodao,Sandra Isella,Analucia A. Alegria,Susana Al-Halabí,Julio Bobes,Gonzalo Galván,Pilar A. Saiz,Vicent Balanzá-Martínez,Gabriel Selva,Inmaculada Fuentes-Durá,Patricia Correa,Maria Mayoral,Guadalupe Chiclana,Jessica Merchán-Naranjo,Marta Rapado-Castro,Manel Salamero,Eduard Vieta +47 more
TL;DR: Functional remediation showed efficacy in improving the functional outcome of a sample of euthymic bipolar patients as compared with treatment as usual, suggesting an interaction between treatment assignment and time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stressful life events at onset of obsessive-compulsive disorder are associated with a distinct clinical pattern.
Eva Real,Javier Labad,Pino Alonso,Pino Alonso,Cinto Segalàs,Susana Jiménez-Murcia,Susana Jiménez-Murcia,B. Bueno,Marta Subirà,Julio Vallejo,Julio Vallejo,José M. Menchón +11 more
TL;DR: Patients with OCD onset close to an SLE and those without a SLE close to OCD onset show a distinct clinical pattern, compared to non‐SLE‐preceded OCD, which showed a later onset of the disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Brain structural correlates of sensory phenomena in patients with obsessive–compulsive disorder
Marta Subirà,João Ricardo Sato,Pino Alonso,Maria Conceição do Rosário,Cinto Segalàs,Marcelo C. Batistuzzo,Eva Real,Antonio Carlos Lopes,Ester Cerrillo,Juliana Belo Diniz,Jesús Pujol,Rachel O. Assis,José M. Menchón,Roseli G. Shavitt,Geraldo F. Busatto,Narcís Cardoner,Euripedes Constantino Miguel,Marcelo Q. Hoexter,Carles Soriano-Mas +18 more
TL;DR: A structural correlate of SP is identified in patients with OCD involving grey matter volume increases within the sensorimotor cortex; this finding is in agreement with those of tic disorder studies showing that abnormal activity andVolume increases within this region are associated with the urges preceding tic onset.
Journal ArticleDOI
Brain regions related to fear extinction in obsessive-compulsive disorder and its relation to exposure therapy outcome: a morphometric study
Miquel A. Fullana,Narcís Cardoner,Pino Alonso,Marta Subirà,Clara López-Solà,Jesús Pujol,Cinto Segalàs,Eva Real,Matias Bossa,Ernesto Zacur,Ignacio Martínez-Zalacaín,Antonio Bulbena,José M. Menchón,Salvador Olmos,Carles Soriano-Mas +14 more
TL;DR: OCD patients showed cortical thickness reductions in the left rACC, and these alterations were related to exposure therapy outcome, and the precise characterization of neuroimaging predictors of treatment response derived from the study of the brain areas involved in fear extinction may optimize exposure therapy planning in OCD and other anxiety disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
Basolateral amygdala–ventromedial prefrontal cortex connectivity predicts cognitive behavioural therapy outcome in adults with obsessive–compulsive disorder
Miquel A. Fullana,Xi Zhu,P. Alonso,Narcís Cardoner,Eva Real,Clara López-Solà,Cinto Segalàs,Marta Subirà,Hanga Galfalvy,José M. Menchón,H. Blair Simpson,Rachel Marsh,Carles Soriano-Mas +12 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that future research should investigate the potential of BLA–vmPFC pathways to inform treatment selection for CBT across patients with OCD and anxiety disorders.
