Network-Friendly Low-Switching-Frequency Multipulse High-Power Three-Level PWM Rectifier
TL;DR: A novel optimal modulation strategy whose objective is to reduce the total harmonic distortion of the input current and the results confirm the advantages of the proposed strategy, namely, less input current distortion and remarkable reduction of higher order harmonics compared with the SHE method, while keeping a low-switching behavior.
Journal ArticleDOI
Model Predictive Torque Ripple Reduction with Weighting Factor Optimization Fed by an Indirect Matrix Converter
TL;DR: In this paper, a weighting factor optimization for reducing the torque ripple of induction machine fed by an indirect matrix converter is introduced and presented and an optimization method is adopted to calculate the optimum weighting factors corresponding to minimum torque ripple.
Journal ArticleDOI
Methods of source current reference generation for predictive control in a direct matrix converter
TL;DR: In this article, two control strategies that allow the control of source and load currents for direct matrix converters are presented, which use the switching state of the converter in subsequent sampling time, based on an optimisation algorithm given by a simple cost function and the discrete system model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental Investigation of the Commutations of a 3L-ANPC Phase Leg Using 4.5-kV–5.5-kA IGCTs
TL;DR: All 32 ANPC commutations can be applied in a new medium-voltage converter realization and do not present critical operating conditions for the power semiconductors or the converters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Event-Triggered Model Predictive Control for Power Converters
Benfei Wang,Jingjing Huang,Changyun Wen,Jose Rodriguez,Cristian Garcia,Hoay Beng Gooi,Zheng Zeng +6 more
TL;DR: Compared with the conventional MPC with finite control set (FCS-MPC), the ET-M PC method has the advantages of less computational burden and less switching actions, which contribute to lower switching losses, while ensuring satisfactory regulation performance.
