Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of oxidized lipids in the diet on serum lipoprotein peroxides in control and diabetic rats.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that dietary oxidized lipids make a major contribution to the levels of oxidizedlipids in circulating lipoproteins and suggested that increased absorption of oxidization lipids in diabetic animals may play a role in the elevation of oxidizer lipids observed in this disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid from fish oil. Their incorporation into advanced human atherosclerotic plaques.

TL;DR: The incorporation of fatty acids from dietary fish oil was measured in obstructive atherosclerotic plaques removed from 11 patients fed fish oil, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, for 6-120 days before a planned arterial endarterectomy to find out whether changes in fatty acid composition led to a higher unsaturation index in the fish oil-fed group.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chylomicrons enhance endotoxin excretion in bile.

TL;DR: Since the majority of an intravenous endotoxin load has been shown to be cleared by the liver, acceleration of hepatocyte clearance and biliary excretion of endotoxin may represent a component of the mechanism by which chylomicrons protect against endotoxin-induced lethality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Recurrent carotid stenosis: operative strategy and late results

TL;DR: The morbidity and mortality rates for primary and secondary carotid reoperation are comparable to the original procedure and should not deter the vascular surgeon from reoperativeCarotid reconstruction whenever indicated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adjunctive primary stenting of Zenith endograft limbs during endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair: Implications for limb patency

TL;DR: It is believed one should identify and stent any limbs that appear to be at risk for thrombosis, but this study lacks the data to predict which limbs need stenting.
