Adjusting to epidemic-induced telework: empirical insights from teleworkers in France

TL;DR: An epidemic-induced telework adjustment model derived from the theory of Work Adjustment and the Interactional Model of Individual Adjustment is developed and tested on a sample of 1574 teleworkers in France, demonstrating the superiority of the influence of crisis-specific variables that are professional isolation, telework environment, work increase and stress.

Gig-workers’ motivation: thinking beyond carrots and sticks

TL;DR: In this paper, a mid-range theory is developed to support the self-motivation of gig-workers through the thoughtful design of their digital labor platforms and the integration of two social media tools (namely, social networking and social badging), and the proposed theory provides novel insight into how gigorganizations can leverage widely accessible social media technology to motivate platform workers in the absence of human supervision and support.
