Journal ArticleDOI
Association Between Use of Thiopurines or Tumor Necrosis Factor Antagonists Alone or in Combination and Risk of Lymphoma in Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Magali Lemaitre,Julien Kirchgesner,Annie Rudnichi,Fabrice Carrat,Mahmoud Zureik,Franck Carbonnel,Rosemary Dray-Spira +6 more
TL;DR: Among adults with IBD, the use of thiopurine monotherapy or anti-TNF monotherapy was associated with a small but statistically significant increased risk of lymphoma compared with exposure to neither medication, and this risk was higher with combination therapy than with each of these treatments used alone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk of Serious and Opportunistic Infections Associated With Treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.
Julien Kirchgesner,Magali Lemaitre,Fabrice Carrat,Mahmoud Zureik,Franck Carbonnel,Rosemary Dray-Spira +5 more
TL;DR: Heterogeneity in risks of serious and opportunistic infections in patients treated with immune-suppressive regimens should be carefully considered and weighed against potential benefits for IBD treatment in patient management.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fecal microbiota transplantation to maintain remission in Crohn’s disease: a pilot randomized controlled study
Harry Sokol,Cécilia Landman,Philippe Seksik,Laurence Berard,Melissa Montil,Isabelle Nion-Larmurier,Anne Bourrier,Guillaume Le Gall,Valérie Lalande,Alexis de Rougemont,Julien Kirchgesner,Anne Daguenel,Marine Cachanado,Alexandra Rousseau,Elodie Drouet,Michelle Rosenzwajg,Hervé Hagege,Xavier Dray,David Klatzman,Philippe Marteau,Laurent Beaugerie,Tabassome Simon +21 more
TL;DR: Higher colonization by donor microbiota was associated with maintenance of remission and no safety signal was identified in this pilot study in adults with colonic or ileo-colonic CD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Increased risk of acute arterial events in young patients and severely active IBD: a nationwide French cohort study
Julien Kirchgesner,Laurent Beaugerie,Fabrice Carrat,Nynne Nyboe Andersen,Tine Jess,Michaël Schwarzinger +5 more
TL;DR: Patients with IBD are at increased risk of acute arterial events, with the highest risk in young patients, and disease activity may also have an independent impact on the risk.
