Cinnamic acid derivatives in cosmetics: current use and future prospects
Agnieszka Gunia-Krzyżak,Karolina Słoczyńska,Justyna Popiół,Paulina Koczurkiewicz,Henryk Marona,Elżbieta Pękala +5 more
TL;DR: Cinnamic acid derivatives, which is currently indexed as a skin‐conditioning cosmetics ingredient, has been widely tested in vitro and in vivo as a new drug candidate for the treatment of hyperpigmentation and may become new cosmetic ingredients in the future.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metabolic stability and its role in the discovery of new chemical entities
Karolina Słoczyńska,Agnieszka Gunia-Krzyżak,Paulina Koczurkiewicz,Katarzyna Wójcik-Pszczoła,Dorota Żelaszczyk,Justyna Popiół,Elżbieta Pękala +6 more
TL;DR: Issues of compound metabolic stability will be discussed, with special emphasis on its significance, in vitro metabolic stability testing, dilemmas regarding in vitro-in vivo extrapolation of the results and some aspects relating to different preclinical species used in in vivo metabolic stability assessment of compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Melanogenesis Inhibitors: Strategies for Searching for and Evaluation of Active Compounds
TL;DR: A review of melanogenesis inhibitors can be found in this paper, with a focus on utilization of various models for evaluation of mechanisms of action of tested compounds, and the potential limitations of the methods are also discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Discovery of Novel UV-Filters with Favorable Safety Profiles in the 5-Arylideneimidazolidine-2,4-dione Derivatives Group.
Justyna Popiół,Agnieszka Gunia-Krzyżak,Kamil Piska,Dorota Żelaszczyk,Paulina Koczurkiewicz,Karolina Słoczyńska,Katarzyna Wójcik-Pszczoła,Anna Krupa,Agata Kryczyk-Poprawa,Ewa Żesławska,Wojciech Nitek,Paweł Żmudzki,Henryk Marona,Elżbieta Pękala +13 more
TL;DR: In the search for new organic UV filters, a series consisting of 5-benzylidene and 5-(3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ylidenes)imidazolidine-2,4-dione (hydantoin) derivatives was designed and synthesized and shown to be non-cytotoxic at concentrations up to 50 µM when tested on three types of human skin cells and possess no estrogenic activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and in vitro evaluation of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-fibrotic effects of new 8-aminopurine-2,6-dione-based phosphodiesterase inhibitors as promising anti-asthmatic agents.
Katarzyna Wójcik-Pszczoła,Agnieszka Jankowska,Marietta Ślusarczyk,Bogdan Jakiela,Hanna Plutecka,Krzysztof Pociecha,Artur Świerczek,Justyna Popiół,Paulina Koczurkiewicz-Adamczyk,Elżbieta Wyska,Elżbieta Pękala,Reinoud Gosens,Grażyna Chłoń-Rzepa +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, a series of N'-phenyl- or N'-benzylbutanamide and N'-arylidenebutanehydrazide derivatives of 8-aminopurine-2,6-dione (27-43) were characterized as prominent pan-PDE inhibitors.
