Journal ArticleDOI

A kinetic study of the growth of a Rhizopus colony

TL;DR: Analysis of the experimental data suggests that the growth phenomenon under consideration can be interpreted by a reaction controlled mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electrophoresis of a pH-Regulated Zwitterionic Nanoparticle in a pH-Regulated Zwitterionic Capillary

TL;DR: This work considers the electrophoresis of a rigid sphere along the axis of a narrow cylindrical capillary; both are pH-regulated and zwitterionic and the presence of four kinds of ionic species should be considered if NaCl is the background electrolyte.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improving the osmotic energy conversion efficiency of multiple nanopores by a cross flow

TL;DR: In this paper , a cross flow parallel to the pore openings is proposed to reduce the degree of ionic concentration polarization (ICP) at a high pore density, thereby improving its osmotic power generation performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic electrophoresis of droplet dispersions at low surface potentials

TL;DR: The dynamic electrophoresis of a dispersion of spherical droplets under conditions of low surface potential and arbitrary double-layer thickness and droplet volume fraction is analyzed and the influence of the frequency of the applied electric field, the volume fraction of the droplets, the thickness of the double layer, and the relative magnitude of the viscosity of thedroplet fluid on the electrophoretic behavior is discussed.
