Andres Ingason,Andres Ingason,Dan Rujescu,Sven Cichon,Engilbert Sigurdsson,Thordur Sigmundsson,Olli Pietiläinen,Jacobine E. Buizer-Voskamp,Eric Strengman,Clyde Francks,Pierandrea Muglia,Arnaldur Gylfason,Omar Gustafsson,Pall I. Olason,Stacy Steinberg,Thomas Hansen,K.D. Jakobsen,Henrik B. Rasmussen,Ina Giegling,H.-J. TL;DR: It is concluded that duplications and perhaps also deletions of chromosome 16p13.1, previously reported to be associated with autism and MR, also confer risk of schizophrenia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic agreement of schizophrenia spectrum disorders among chronic patients with functional psychoses.
TL;DR: Diagnostic agreement is higher among chronic patients than that observed in subjects with a recent onset of psychosis, although considerable discordance is also observed in this chronic sample, demonstrating the conventional nature of the present schizophrenia diagnoses and the need for biologically founded diagnostic criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Apolipoprotein D is associated with long-term outcome in patients with schizophrenia
Thomas Hansen,Ralf Hemmingsen,Ralf Hemmingsen,August G. Wang,Line Olsen,Sally Timm,Karen Søeby,K.D. Jakobsen,Mogens Fenger,Josef Parnas,Henrik B. Rasmussen,Thomas Werge +11 more
TL;DR: Genotyped two single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the ApoD gene in 343 chronic patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders and 346 control subjects of Danish origin and found that long-term clinical outcome was associated with the apolipoprotein D polymorphism rs7659.
Journal ArticleDOI
A possible association between schizophrenia and GRIK3 polymorphisms in a multicenter sample of Scandinavian origin (SCOPE)
Srdjan Djurovic,Anna K. Kähler,B. Kulle,Erik G. Jönsson,Ingrid Agartz,Ingrid Agartz,S. Le Hellard,S. Le Hellard,Håkan Hall,K.D. Jakobsen,Thomas Hansen,Ingrid Melle,Thomas Werge,Vidar M. Steen,Vidar M. Steen,Ole A. Andreassen +15 more
TL;DR: The present results, although not robust, support the importance of more extensive investigations of GRIK3, given its potential role in mediating risk for schizophrenia.
