Journal ArticleDOI

Pseudomonas aeruginosa elastase causes transient disruption of tight junctions and downregulation of PAR-2 in human nasal epithelial cells.

TL;DR: The transient disruption of tight junctions by PE might occur repeatedly during chronic rhinosinusitis, and treatment with a PAR-2 agonist prevented the downregulation of the tight junction proteins after PE treatment in HNECs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Curcumin Prevents Replication of Respiratory Syncytial Virus and the Epithelial Responses to It in Human Nasal Epithelial Cells

TL;DR: Results suggest that curcumin can prevent the replication of RSV and the epithelial responses to it without cytotoxicity and may act as therapy for severe lower respiratory tract disease in infants and young children caused by RSV infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regulation of tight junctions by sex hormones in normal human endometrial epithelial cells and uterus cancer cell line Sawano

TL;DR: Tight junctions are physiological regulated by sex hormones in normal HEE cells during the menstrual cycle suggesting that safer and more effective therapeutic methods targeting claudins in uterine cancer can be developed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regulation of interleukin-33 and thymic stromal lymphopoietin in human nasal fibroblasts by proinflammatory cytokines

TL;DR: This work investigated the signal transduction regulation of IL‐33 and TSLP induced by proinflammatory cytokines in nasal fibroblasts and found that these molecules regulated the regulation of epithelial cells and smooth muscle cells at nasal mucosal sites.
