Journal ArticleDOI
TNF-alpha and TNF-alpha receptor type 1 upregulation in glia and neurons after peripheral nerve injury: studies in murine DRG and spinal cord.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that upregulation of glial TNF-&agr; is associated with the expression of the p55 receptor on adjacent neurons, which may be related to the pathogenesis of neuropathic pain.
Journal ArticleDOI
A new concept for making decisions regarding the surgical approach for cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament: the K-line.
Takayuki Fujiyoshi,Masashi Yamazaki,Junko Kawabe,Tomonori Endo,Takeo Furuya,Masao Koda,Akihiko Okawa,Kazuhisa Takahashi,Hiroaki Konishi +8 more
TL;DR: The present results demonstrate that a sufficient posterior shift of the spinal cord and neurologic improvement will not be obtained after posterior decompression surgery in the K-line (−) group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vertebral bone-marrow changes in degenerative lumbar disc disease. An MRI study of 74 patients with low back pain
TL;DR: MRI studies of 74 patients with end-plate and vertebral bone-marrow changes associated with degenerative lumbar disc disease found type-A changes correlated with segmental hypermobility and low back pain, while type-B changes were more common in patients with stable degenerative disc disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tumor necrosis factor-immunoreactive cells and PGP 9.5-immunoreactive nerve fibers in vertebral endplates of patients with discogenic low back Pain and Modic Type 1 or Type 2 changes on MRI.
Seiji Ohtori,Gen Inoue,Toshinori Ito,Takana Koshi,Tomoyuki Ozawa,Hideo Doya,Tomoko Saito,Hideshige Moriya,Kazuhisa Takahashi +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that endplate abnormalities are related to inflammation and axon growth induced by TNF.
Journal ArticleDOI
