Practical Approach to the Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley Reduction of Carbonyl Substrates with New Aluminum Catalysts This work was partially supported by a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypercoordination of Boron and Aluminum: Synthetic Utility as Chelating Lewis Acids
Journal ArticleDOI
Advantage of in situ generation of N-arylsulfonyl imines from α-amide sulfones in the phase-transfer-catalyzed asymmetric Strecker reaction
TL;DR: In this paper, a catalytic enantioselective synthesis of N -arylsulfonyl α-amino nitriles from the corresponding α -amido sulfones has been achieved under toluene-aqueous potassium cyanide biphasic conditions using chiral quaternary ammonium iodide (R, R, R, R )-1 as an effective phase-transfer catalyst.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stereoselective syntheses of solenopsin A and B
TL;DR: In this paper, the Beckman rearrangement-alkylation reaction promoted by organoaluminum reagents and a new stereoselective reduction of imino functional group were used to synthesize solenopsin A and B.
Journal ArticleDOI
Asymmetric organocatalytic oxy-Michael addition of alcohols to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes
TL;DR: In this article, a 1,4-addition of alcohols to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes was found to be efficiently promoted by biphenyldiamine-based catalyst without formation of the acetals.
