Journal ArticleDOI
Atomic layers of hybridized boron nitride and graphene domains
Lijie Ci,Li Song,Chuanhong Jin,Deep Jariwala,Deep Jariwala,Dangxin Wu,Yongjie Li,Yongjie Li,Anchal Srivastava,Anchal Srivastava,Zhengfei Wang,Kevin Storr,Luis Balicas,Feng Liu,Pulickel M. Ajayan +14 more
TL;DR: This new form of hybrid h-BNC material enables the development of bandgap-engineered applications in electronics and optics and properties that are distinct from those of graphene and h-BN.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anomalous Insulator-Metal Transition in Boron Nitride-Graphene Hybrid Atomic Layers
Li Song,Luis Balicas,Duncan J. Mowbray,Rodrigo B. Capaz,Rodrigo B. Capaz,Kevin Storr,Lijie Ci,Deep Jariwala,Stefan Kurth,Stefan Kurth,Steven G. Louie,Steven G. Louie,Angel Rubio,Pulickel M. Ajayan +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, magnetoelectric transport measurements performed at low temperature in vapor phase synthesized hexagonal boron nitride (h-BNC) atomic layers show a clear and anomalous transition from an insulating to a metallic behavior upon cooling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shubnikov-de Haas effect and Yamaji oscillations in the antiferromagnetically ordered organic superconductor k-(BETS)2FeBr4: A Fermiology study
Luis Balicas,James S. Brooks,Kevin Storr,David Graf,Shinia Uji,H. Shinagawa,E. Ojima,Hideki Fujiwara,Hayao Kobayashi,Akiko Kobayashi,Madoka Tokumoto +10 more
TL;DR: Shubnikov-De Haas effect (SdH) and angular dependent magnetoresistance oscillations (AMRO) were observed in the organic superconductor as discussed by the authors, revealing three Fermi Surface (FS) closed orbits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Orbital-dependent metamagnetic response in Sr 4 Ru 3 O 10
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the metamagnetic transition in the Fermi surface bifurcates into two transitions as the field is rotated away from the conducting planes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shubnikov-de Hass effect across a metamagnetic transition in high quality single crystals of Sr4Ru3O10
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed electrical transport study at very high magnetic fields and low temperatures in high quality single crystals of Sr4Ru3O10 was performed, and Shubnikov-de Hass oscillations were observed showing that a metamagnetic transition leads to a quite non-trivial evolution of the Fermi surface.
