Removal of elemental mercury from gas stream using sulfur-functionalized silica microspheres (S-SMs)

TL;DR: In this article, the sulfur-functionalized silica microspheres (S-SMs) were synthesized and modified through impregnation with elemental sulfur (S8) and carbon disulfide (CS2) to produce sulfur functionalized SMs. The morphology of SMs did not change after modification, however, its pore characteristics and sulfur content as expected did change significantly.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carbon Nanotubes Incorporated Z-Scheme Assembly of AgBr/TiO2 for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production under Visible Light Irradiations.

TL;DR: Improved performance of the photocatalyst was credited to the CNTs as an electron mediator, surface functional groups, higher surface area, enhanced charge separation and extended visible light absorption edge.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conversion of coconut waste into cost effective adsorbent for Cu(II) and Ni(II) removal from aqueous solutions

TL;DR: In this article, the physicochemical characterization of the DCW adsorbent showed that it has a surface area of 6.63 m/g, high elemental carbon content and existences of important functional groups on its surface.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of Lead (II) Ions from Aqueous Solution Using Desiccated Coconut Waste as Low-Cost Adsorbent

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used desiccated coconut waste (DCW) to remove Pb (II) due to Pb(II) hazardous effect in the environment and showed that the use of DCW as an alternative low-cost adsorbent for the removal Pb from aqueous solution is feasible.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of Elemental Mercury by Coconut Pith Char Adsorbents

TL;DR: In this article, the preparation of chars was carried out through the carbonization of coconut pith at three different environment conditions: (a) open reactor under nitrogen flow, (b) closed reactor under a nitrogen environment, and (c) closed reactors under an ambient environment, at the temperature of 700°C.
