Labor Induction versus Expectant Management in Low-Risk Nulliparous Women
William A. Grobman,Madeline Murguia Rice,Uma M. Reddy,Alan T.N. Tita,Robert M. Silver,Gail Mallett,Kim Hill,Elizabeth Thom,Yasser Y. El-Sayed,Annette Perez-Delboy,Dwight J. Rouse,George R. TL;DR: Induction of labor at 39 weeks in low‐risk nulliparous women did not result in a significantly lower frequency of a composite adverse perinatal outcome, but it did result in less frequency of cesarean delivery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Progressive periodontal disease and risk of very preterm delivery.
Steven Offenbacher,Kim A. Boggess,Amy P. Murtha,Heather Jared,Susan Lieff,Rosemary G. McKaig,Sally M. Mauriello,Kevin Moss,James D. Beck +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that maternal periodontal disease increases relative risk for preterm or spontaneous preterm births and was a predictor of the more severe adverse pregnancy outcome of very preterm birth, independently of traditional obstetric, periodontal, and social domain risk factors.

TL;DR: Le declenchement du travail a 39 semaines chez les femmes nullipares a faible risque d'evolution perinatale composite indesirable, mais entrainait une frequence significativement plus faible d'accouchements par cesarienne.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trends in glyburide compared with insulin use for gestational diabetes treatment in the United States, 2000-2011.
Wendy Camelo Castillo,Kim A. Boggess,Til Stürmer,M. Alan Brookhart,Daniel K. Benjamin,Michele Jonsson Funk +5 more
TL;DR: Glyburide has replaced insulin as the more common pharmacotherapy for GDM over the past decade among those privately insured and robust evaluation of glyburide's relative effectiveness is warranted to inform treatment decisions for women with gestational diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bacteremia shortly after placental separation during cesarean delivery.
Kim A. Boggess,D. Heather Watts,Sharon L. Hillier,Marijane A. Krohn,Thomas J. Benedetti,David A. Eschenbach +5 more
TL;DR: Bacteremia was common after labor in this population, especially in preterm deliveries and those with positive chorioamnionic-placental culture and many of the isolates are capable of cuasing endocarditis.
